AI agents controlling desktop apps

Well-funded Vercel Labs Rust CLI for desktop computer-use; solo devs can't match the cross-platform accessibility plumbing, and thin HN traction makes it a weak standalone bet.

✓ Apache-2.0 license with 792 forks (6.8% fork ratio) signals real intent to build on it✓ Fast star velocity (3,792 today, 14.77/day) shows acute interest in desktop computer-use for agents✓ Rust CLI with MCP integration fits cleanly into existing agent toolchains

⚠ Backed by Vercel Labs — replicating cross-platform accessibility APIs from scratch needs deep OS-level expertise and a funded team⚠ Near-zero HN discussion (1 mention, 2 points) suggests hype is star-driven, not adoption-driven⚠ Crowded space (OpenAI Operator, Anthropic computer-use, open-source alternatives) with mature incumbents
