mood-based movie recommendations

A mood-quiz movie recommender is a weekend build with no moat, no data advantage, and no evidence anyone is asking for it beyond one Reddit post.

✓ Trivially buildable solo: a questionnaire plus a mapping to a movie catalog needs no ML, no training, and no paid APIs✓ Autocomplete signal of 17 suggests some latent search interest in mood-based movie discovery✓ Clear target user (movie watchers) and a recurring, low-stakes use case that can be monetized via affiliate links or a subscription

⚠ Zero traction signals: no HN mentions, no Reddit upvotes/comments captured, no downloads — demand is unproven⚠ Crowded space dominated by Netflix, Letterboxd, JustWatch, and countless free quiz apps; no differentiation or proprietary data⚠ Mood-to-movie mapping is subjective and easily replicated, so retention and willingness to pay are both doubtful
